Ciao Wood Fired Pizza Oven

Ciao Wood Fired Pizza Oven

The Ciao is extremely mobile and allows you to cook everything outdoors with the healthiness and genuineness that only wood cooking can offer. Our oven is a little more expensive than any other ovens sold on the internet and in garden centres, but please be reassured that our ovens are of a higher build quality, better design and have incomparable performance. All Award Leisure wood fired pizza oven range are covered by a 5 year satisfaction guarantee, carry a 5 star endorsement from our hundreds of satisfied customers and we will confidently promise you years and years of mouth-watering cooking experiences.

Once in location in your garden, the oven can be heated up to 400°C and ready for cooking your pizzas in less than 15 minutes. All you’ll need is a lighter, 4 sticks of kindling and 4 quarter sections of kiln dried log to start you off. Please see our video guides and recipes to see how easy the oven is to use.

The oven floor is made of interchangeable refractory tiles designed to absorb heat from the fire and then convey this heat from the tiles upwards so that your food is cooked evenly and perfectly. The front door is fitted with a solid steel handle and allows air flow into the oven so the flame can be made weaker or the flame can be kindled to brown food for a crisper result.

Through design we’ve created a heating technology which combines the traditional properties of a brick built oven with a more contemporary efficiency. The casing of the steel structure is specially designed to be resistant to any thermal and mechanical stresses created by the very high temperatures our ovens can reach. The dome is manufactured from thermal stainless steel and is insulated with ceramic fibre so that the hot temperature required for outdoor ovens to be effective is retained. Our ovens can reach much higher temperatures, much more quickly, with less wood and stay hotter for longer than any other pizza oven and can reach controllable temperatures up to 400°C.

The Ciao has a built-in food-warming shelf located just below the combustion chamber so that you can leave dishes to rest when they are taken out of the oven and the food will remain at a constant temperature. Our beautiful Ciao is housed in a trolley design with a large stainless steel handle on the side and two castors making transportation and location of the oven simple.

This system provides a lovely even temperature so that you can make an 11-inch pizza without having to turn it in about five minutes. And the whole pizza is infused with a mouth-watering smoky flavour.

We've had our oven since last spring and use it several times a month. Our friends tell us they prefer our thin crust pizzas to some pretty nice restaurant ones. You can cook a pizza on the stones in less than a minute at the super-high temperatures. The oven is VERY heavy and well-insulated, so don't be afraid to get the temperature high.

The Oven arrived quickly and my wife and I assembled and cooked six pizzas on Sunday. What great fun and great pizzas. I am still experimenting with fire size and temperature to get even cooking of dough and toppings - I look forward to continued tasty experiments. You can certainly count me among the group of satisfied amateur pizza chefs - really glad I went with you- looks and works great.

I'm really enjoying my Ciao. I took a picture of the thermostat on the oven last night which illustrates the amazing insulation in the oven. The roof was completely blanketed with frost and the temp guage was somewhere between 300 and 400 and virtually no frost melting off the top.

To watch my 4 grandchildren make their own pizza and then watch it rise as it cooks is worth the price of admission. I named my oven Floyd and she has made sure my grandchildren never leave my side.

Make your own dough. Use Zero grade flower and Google a good recipe. Roll out the dough reasonably thin but not so thin that it tears easily. Don't go too heavy on the toppings ? less is more - the pizza will only be in the oven for 1-2 minutes so piled-high toppings won't get a chance to cook thoroughly.

We can pop out and turn around pizzas every 5-6 minutes and this includes rolling the dough and making from start.
